Selling on hoardboard

Hoardboard is a marketplace buit by collectors, for collectors. We are in partnership with Falmouth Universities Launchpad Programme - giving us the resources to support you and your store with your online presence.

Setting up your account

You can set up your account by visiting www.hoardboard.co.uk/signup. From there you’ll need to enter an email address and password or sign in with Google SSO.

Once you’ve created your account, you’ll need to create a username and add some more information about yourself.

Once this is completed you’ll be able to start using your account.

Complete your account with stripe

After creating your account you’ll be able to link or create a stripe account. This protects your payment information and allows us to pay you when your item is sold.

Listing your items

You can list your items by clicking ‘create listing’ in the nav bar. You’ll need to take a photo and add a description to the listing. Items can also be directly added from collections - just find the item you want to list and choose ‘List this item’.

Managing your listings

You can see all of your listings on your profile. To edit a listing choose the item you plan and choose the edit button.

Delisting items

You can delist your item at any time for free. You can do this by visiting your profile, choosing the item you wish to delist and choose delete.

Payouts

Payouts from stripe happen automatically 7 days after your item sells - for frequent and trusted sellers, we are able to shorten this period - if you feel you are eligible contact us.

Selling methods

Buy now

Users can buy your item instantly for a set price.

Once your item has sold, you are expected to post your item to the buyer. All details needed about the buyer can be found in the on your Orders page.

Offers

If allowing users to instantly buy your item isn't your thing, you can also choose to receive offers.

You have the power to accept and decline offers of your choice.

If you choose to accept an offer, a number of things will happen:

The sender will be notified you have accepted their offer and will have 24 hours to pay for the item.
If the sender fails to pay within the 24 hour time period, the offer is automatically cancelled and your item is relisted
Once an offer is accepted, all other pending offers are automatically cancelled, as the item is no longer available

Trade offers

Trading is the act of swapping an item/s for another.

We have a one of a kind feature where you can trade with other users safely on hoardboard.

How does trading work?

List your items and select Trade as a selected selling method
Find other items that are available to trade and send the user a trade offer. You can choose any of your items current listed as available to trade to include in the trade offer, as well as select any items the other user currently has available also.
Should the other user accept your offer, both sets of items will be made unavailable and your Trade offer will turn into a Trade.
Each Trade has a live instance where you can monitor the progress of your trade. It allows you to see what tasks you have left to complete, as well as what your trade partner has done so far.
Both parties are required to send the items to us here at hoardboard. This allows us to complete our middleman service, by ensuring the items have arrived safely,no scamming is involved and that the items are as described.
You are required to pay for postage to hoardboard twice. This is to cover the postage cost to send the items from you to hoardboard and finally from hoardboard to your partner.
You can live chat in your Trade at any time. The chat is between yourself, your trade partner and a member of staff. You can request more photos at any point, free of charge, or any other worries/queries you may have can be voiced in the live chat.

Fees

Selling

When you sell an item on hoardboard, we charge 6% per item.

There are no fees for delisting an item.

In store

When an item listed is marked ‘in-store’ you can list the item’s title, price, image and description. When the item sells, you can delist the item at no cost.

Delisting items

You can delist your item at any time for free. You can do this by visiting your profile, choosing the item you wish to delist and choose delete.

Trading Costs

The cost of the middleman service is free. However, you will need to pay for postage twice. Firstly to send your item to hoardboard, and secondly to receive your item from hoardboard.
